A betslip is the on-screen or printed ticket that holds selections before a wager is confirmed. Online it lists each pick, the odds attached to it, a stake box and the potential return, and it offers single, multiple and system options once more than one selection is added. Prices on a betslip are not locked until the bet is accepted: if a line moves in the seconds before confirmation the operator either rejects the slip or asks the customer to accept the new odds, and many sites have an accept-any-odds setting that does this automatically. Retail slips work the same way, except the printed ticket is the proof of stake and must be kept to claim a return. Checking the market, price and stake on the slip before confirming avoids most settlement disputes.
