Dragon Bonus is the baccarat side bet that pays on the margin of victory rather than the result. You back banker or player, and the bet pays only if your side wins by four points or more, on a ladder that rises with the gap: 1 to 1 for a four-point win, 2 to 1 for five, 4 to 1 for six, 6 to 1 for seven, 10 to 1 for eight and 30 to 1 for nine. A win with a natural pays 1 to 1 whatever the margin, a tie between two naturals returns the stake, and everything else loses.
The detail worth knowing is that the two sides of the same bet are priced very differently. Dragon Bonus on the banker holds roughly 2.65 percent; on the player it holds roughly 9.37 percent. That is the same wager, the same paytable and about three and a half times the cost, decided entirely by which box the chip sits in.
Worked example: stake 10 on banker Dragon Bonus and the banker wins 9 to 0. The margin is nine, so the bet returns 300 plus the stake. Win 7 to 5 and the margin is two, so it loses, even though the main banker bet won.
The paytable is on the rules screen. Where a table's version differs from the ladder above, the edge differs with it.
