Nudge Feature

Slots

A nudge feature shifts a slot reel by one or two positions after a spin, often pulling a scatter or oversized symbol fully into view to trigger a feature.

A nudge feature moves a reel up or down by one or two symbol positions after the spin has stopped, usually to complete a combination that landed just short. Nudges are most associated with classic British fruit machines, where the player could sometimes choose which reel to nudge, but modern video slots use them as an automatic effect, most often to drag a scatter or bonus symbol fully into view so a feature triggers. Some games nudge only oversized or stacked symbols that are partly cut off by the edge of the grid. The important point is that the nudge is part of the game's programmed maths, not a second chance the machine grants outside of it: the frequency of nudges is already priced into the RTP. A near miss that is not nudged is simply an ordinary losing spin.
