Master Affiliate

A master affiliate is a partner who sits at the top of a multi-tier referral hierarchy and earns an override commission on the revenue generated by the sub-affiliates they recruit, in addition to any players they refer directly. Rather than only being paid for their own traffic, the master affiliate takes a slice of everyone below them in the tree, functioning as a mini-network within a larger affiliate programme. The override is layered on top of the sub-affiliate's own deal, so it does not reduce what the sub earns; the operator funds it from its marketing margin. Master-affiliate structures are common in crypto casino programmes and larger media partnerships, where recruiting other affiliates scales faster than growing personal traffic alone. Worked example: you are a master affiliate on a 5% override. A sub-affiliate you recruited signs players who generate €10,000 in net gaming revenue (NGR) this month. That sub is on a 30% revenue-share deal, so they earn €3,000. Your override pays 5% of the same NGR — €500 — on top of anything your own direct players produce. Recruit ten equally productive subs and the override alone is €5,000 a month, passive to their day-to-day work. Master affiliates should confirm exactly which base the override is calculated on — gross revenue, NGR, or the sub's paid commission — because the wording changes earnings dramatically. Also check whether negative carryover from a sub's losing month cascades up to your balance, and whether the override survives if a sub switches to a CPA deal.
