Table games are the casino games played on a purpose-built layout with chips and a dealer rather than on a machine. The main families are blackjack and other card games, roulette, baccarat, craps and casino versions of poker. Results come from a physical randomiser such as a shuffled shoe, a spinning wheel or thrown dice, while online they come from a random number generator or from a streamed live-dealer table. Every table posts a minimum and a maximum bet, and the house edge is fixed by the rules and by the payout ratios of each wager rather than by anything the dealer does. Table games settle more slowly than slots, so fewer bets are resolved per hour, though stakes are often larger. That edge applies to every bet placed.
