Comped Room

A comped room is a hotel night that a casino provides free of charge as part of its complimentary programme. Offers run along a scale: a discounted rate, then a free room, then room, food and beverage together, the arrangement often abbreviated as RFB and reserved for the largest players. Eligibility does not depend on whether you won. Hosts and marketing systems work from tracked play, combining average bet, hours at the game and the house edge of what you played into an estimate of theoretical loss, then reinvest a fraction of that estimate. Offers also arrive by mail or app to bring quieter players back on quieter days. The economics deserve plain statement: a room is offered because the casino expects your play to cost you more than the room is worth, so treating an offer as a reason to play longer or larger inverts its value.
