Pick'em

Esports

Pick'em is an esports prediction format, popularised by CS Majors, where you forecast which teams go 3-0, get eliminated, or advance from a group.

A Pick'em is an esports prediction challenge, most famously run at Counter-Strike Majors, where you forecast how a group stage or bracket will unfold before it starts. In the classic Counter-Strike format you pick which two teams go 3-0, which two go 0-3 (eliminated), and which teams advance from the middle of a Swiss or GSL group, earning stars or points for each correct call. Some Pick'ems are free operator or publisher promotions with cosmetic or bonus rewards; others are dressed up as tournament-winner and group-stage-betting markets at a sportsbook with real odds. Worked example: a Major Pick'em Challenge might award one point per correct advancement pick plus bonus points for nailing the 3-0 and 0-3 sides. Suppose a bookmaker instead lets you bet the same outcome as a specialty market. Team A to finish 3-0 is priced at +450 (decimal 5.50, implied probability roughly 18.2%). A EUR20 stake returns EUR110 if they run the table, EUR90 profit. Because these are correlated events across one bracket, an accumulator built from several Pick'em legs compounds variance quickly, so many bettors treat them as low-stake, high-upside plays rather than core positions. For affiliates, publisher Pick'em events like the CS Major drive huge seasonal traffic spikes, making them a strong content hook, but always separate the free prediction game from any real-money wagering you promote. Compare with esports-major, group-stage-betting, correct-map-score and tournament-winner to see how fixed-odds markets price the same questions a Pick'em asks for fun.
